Global ePoint to Introduce Multi–Channel Mobile Digital Video Technology for Homeland Security at Department of Defense Demonstration

Law Enforcement and Military to Review Upgraded Surveillance Security Solutions

The FPED5 demonstration will present an impressive array of high–technology weaponry and state–of–the–art defense systems, including surveillance and Homeland Security solutions for both military and law enforcement applications.

Staged by the U.S. Army Product Manager (Force Protection Systems), FPED5 is being sponsored by numerous agencies ranging from the National Institute of Justice and Department of Energy to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for select military, government and law enforcement attendees – both domestic and international.

Global ePoint’s enhanced "Trooper" model Mobile Video Surveillance System, being introduced by the company’s Digital Video Technology Group, will be installed in a command center vehicle and demonstrated in conjunction with revolutionary color night vision video cameras developed by CANVS Corporation.

"As a result of the initial success of the Ranger 350i Mobile Video Surveillance System, we launched an intensive year–long follow–up research and development program to incorporate certain new and emerging technologies in a significantly advanced Mobile Video Surveillance System that allows broader applications," said Toresa Lou, Global ePoint’s CEO. "We are committed to maintaining the Digital Video Technology Group’s role as industry leaders and look forward to the introduction of the new Trooper system and its integration into Homeland Security solutions."

New Trooper technology includes every aspect of the successful Ranger model, with numerous proprietary cutting–edge enhancements. Technologies for computing, networking and compression have been dramatically expanded. The new Trooper model is a lightweight portable device offering up to eight channels of simultaneous audio and video recording and "real time" transmitting and playback. Designed for multiple camera installations and applications, Trooper provides state–of–the–art wireless, hands–free digital video technology with the ability to view events in "real time" and to remotely control transmission from any mobile position to any other location or documentary archive.

This new mobile DVR technology provides better–than–ever, clear and accurate "as it happens" digital transmission and recording of video, audio and meta–data from the field in a more compact, faster and even more efficient hardware/software platform and configuration.

In addition to broad and versatile applications for law enforcement – from street patrol vehicles and undercover surveillance to airborne helicopter and aircraft installations, including UAV (Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle) – the new Trooper model mobile DVR is equally well-suited to improve operations and documentation in other sectors as well. This includes commercial, city, state and government vehicles, from buses and public transportation to fleet automobiles and trucks and extreme military applications requiring rugged construction that supports data storage using solid–state memories.

The Digital Technology Division develops and provides a range of next–generation digital video and audio recording solutions for applications in the security industry. Currently consisting of Perpetual Digital and Sequent Technology product lines, the Digital division’s products are making analog tape–based systems obsolete by providing digital technology solutions to enable the real–time capture, playback, communication, computer–based archive, search and recall of high–quality digital video. Perpetual Digital products provide a range of security and surveillance capabilities, including point–of–sale digital video transaction recording equipment and a range of other commercial security solutions for professional alarm providers and integrators. Sequent Technologies products provide proprietary digital video systems for a range of law enforcement, defense, access security and public safety markets. Its products enable the video transmission, indexing and archiving systems from anywhere using existing wireless cellular networks.

Global ePoint’s growth catalyst, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, is the design, manufacturing, sales and distribution of digital video surveillance systems for the law enforcement, military, aviation and homeland security markets. On the cutting edge of digital technology and seeking to expand its product line, Global ePoint is developing new compression technologies and next–generation, secure network digital video systems and servers for a wide range of new markets, concentrating primarily on security and homeland defense applications. As a solid recurring revenue stream, the Company also manufactures customized computing systems for industrial, business and consumer markets, as well as other specialized electronic products and systems. Complete vertical integration — from design and manufacturing to sales and distribution — allows the Company to capture efficiencies and maintain cost advantages in these growing markets, particularly homeland security.
