CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 4, 2005 — Global ePoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:GEPT – News), an innovative developer and manufacturer of homeland security solutions in aviation, law enforcement, financial, retail, and industrial markets, introduces the next–generation, propriety digital surveillance technology solutions expanding our Perpetual Digital(TM) product line. In less than one year Global ePoint is ready to deliver the first phase of our propriety digital security systems at the largest electronic security trade show in the United States, the ISC West trade show in Las Vegas, NV. Global ePoint has developed a proprietary standard hardware platform that incorporates a more efficient video processing and compression system which increases the surveillance system’s overall stability and reliability. "Our new technology provides an incredibly powerful hardware platform that delivers a very flexible, but stable environment, allowing us to provide market driven applications for our customers in vertical markets such as aviation, retail, industrial, financial, and homeland security," commented Dr. S.T. Pan, Vice President of Engineering for Global ePoint, Inc. "An additional advantage to our technology is the miniaturization and ruggedness of the chassis, providing the primary foundation for our mobile digital surveillance systems."

"The enthusiastic response we have been receiving from the security distribution channel for our Perpetual Digital product line will only increase in momentum with the introduction of our latest technology," responded Mr. Cappelletti. "The ability to expand our product line and provide custom market solutions for our customers will be a tremendous tool for our growth," Mr. Cappelletti commented. Mr. Cappelletti has over 25 years of experience in the security industry, and was part of the executive team that successfully built ADI, a wholesale distributor of security equipment, now part of Honeywell, into the largest wholesale security distributor in the market with annual revenues over $1 Billion.

The Perpetual Digital product line provides dynamic surveillance solutions to the electronic security market, which has been experiencing significant growth over the last decade. According to Security Sales & Integration magazine, the electronic security market is projected to reach $21.9 Billion in 2004; an increase of 7.9% or $1.6 Billion from 2003’s revenues of $20.3 Billion. Since 1995 the electronic security market has grown by almost $10 Billion, with a median annual increase of 6.5%.

Global ePoint’s Digital Technology Division develops and provides a range of next–generation digital video and audio recording solutions for applications in the security industry. Currently consisting of Perpetual Digital and Sequent Technology product lines, the Digital division’s products are making analog tape–based systems obsolete by providing digital technology solutions to enable the real–time capture, playback, communication, computer–based archive, search and recall of high–quality digital video. Perpetual Digital products provide a range of security and surveillance capabilities, including point–of–sale digital video transaction recording equipment and a range of other commercial security solutions for professional alarm providers and integrators. Its products enable the video transmission, indexing and archiving systems from anywhere using existing wireless cellular networks.

Global ePoint’s growth catalyst, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, is the design, manufacturing, sales and distribution of digital video surveillance systems for the law enforcement, military, aviation and homeland security markets. On the cutting edge of digital technology and seeking to expand its product line, Global ePoint is developing new compression technologies and next–generation, secure network digital video systems and servers for a wide range of new markets, concentrating primarily on security and homeland defense applications. As a solid recurring revenue stream, the Company also manufactures customized computing systems for industrial, business and consumer markets, as well as other specialized electronic products and systems. Complete vertical integration — from design and manufacturing to sales and distribution — allows the Company to capture efficiencies and maintain cost advantages in these growing markets, particularly homeland security.
