Global ePoint’s Airworks Unit Posts Repeat Product Orders from International Airline Customers as Fleets Expand

Company Also Selected to Provide Installation Services for Lufthansa, GermanWings, Air Macao and First Choice Airlines

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — Feb. 18, 2005 — Global ePoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:GEPT – News), an innovator of homeland security solutions in aviation, law enforcement and high–volume contract manufacturing, has announced new purchase orders to its existing base of commercial airline customers as they expand their passenger aircraft fleets. In addition, the Company announced an increasing number of orders to provide installation services of its next–generation AirWorks brand security and electronics products. Ricky Frick, President of Global ePoint’s Aviation Division, made the announcement.

Global ePoint’s AirWorks unit is able to deploy installation teams worldwide, providing an important service that distinguishes it from other aircraft equipment vendors. Customers have the option of using AirWorks installation specialists for equipment upgrades, enabling the airlines’ regular maintenance and service personnel to concentrate on their primary duties.

"Our AirWorks business unit has gained a substantial presence as a major provider of advanced security equipment as well as cockpit and passenger seating electronics products, and we are demonstrating growing success with our installation services as well," said Mr. Frick. "Customers of our products are opting for our installation services in greater numbers because AirWorks can provide the highest quality of work. Additionally, the expertise of our installation teams and their experience with our products enables us to complete the installations under tight schedules to ensure that aircraft are returned to service without any interruption to the normal revenue portion of the day. In today’s economy, airlines cannot easily afford to lose the services of their equipment or personnel for even a portion of a day’s regular schedule, even to conduct these important equipment upgrades. These installation services are a growing source of revenue for AirWorks and Global ePoint’s Aviation Division."

Among AirWorks’ newly announced sales agreements, German–based European carrier GermanWings has ordered products for a new Airbus A320 and has also exercised an option calling for AirWorks to install its Cockpit Door Surveillance System (CDSS), an advanced security system, in its entire fleet. AirWorks will be deploying a team of specialists to Cologne and Stuttgart to perform these installations.

Lufthansa Airlines has also recently exercised their option to order 33 Cabin Ready modifications for their A320 aircraft fleet. The Cabin Ready Modification is an optional growth feature for CDSS systems already installed in the Lufthansa aircraft. It enables flight attendants to communicate special alerts and passenger cabin conditions to the cockpit crew. Additionally, Lufthansa has placed orders for new CDSS systems for two Boeing 737–300 aircraft, and several Airbus models.

Asian carrier Air Macao has expanded its fleet with an additional Airbus aircraft, and placed an order for immediate delivery of another AirWorks CDSS system. UK–based First Choice Airlines has selected AirWorks to perform a firmware upgrade program for CDSS units on their fleet of 36 aircraft.

The Company’s Aviation division contains Global AirWorks, whose primary communications and security products include the Cockpit Door Surveillance System (CDSS), a digital electronic "flight bag" of all flight and on–board manuals and records for pilots and a Laptop Computer Power System for passengers and flight crews. AirWorks customers include airline major OEMs, such as AT&T Aviation, BAE Systems, In–flight Phone, L3 Communications, and Rockwell Collins; all major U.S. airlines; and all major international carriers, including ATA, Air China, Bombardier, Finnair, Varig, KLM, Lufthansa and Cathay Pacific. AirWorks holds more than 40 supplemental type certificates (STC) certifying AirWorks as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)–approved manufacturer and installer for a range of interior equipment and systems for a variety of commercial aircraft flying worldwide.

Global ePoint’s growth catalyst, through its wholly–owned subsidiaries, is the design, manufacturing, sales and distribution of digital video surveillance systems for the law enforcement, military, aviation and homeland security markets. On the cutting edge of digital technology and seeking to expand its product line, Global ePoint is developing new compression technologies and next–generation, secure network digital video systems and servers for a wide range of new markets, concentrating primarily on security and homeland defense applications. As a solid recurring revenue stream, the Company also manufactures customized computing systems for industrial, business and consumer markets, as well as other specialized electronic products and systems. Complete vertical integration — from design and manufacturing to sales and distribution — allows the Company to capture efficiencies and maintain cost advantages in these growing markets, particularly homeland security.
