American Airlines MD–80 Fleet Orders Global ePoint/AirWorks Laptop Computer Power Systems

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 1, 2004 — Global ePoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:GEPT) today announced its AirWorks division received initial orders from American Airlines to install Laptop Computer Power systems in 103 additional MD–80 aircraft. The initial orders are for $361,000 with a follow–on orders anticipated.

The state–of–the–art AirWorks system allows passengers to plug laptops directly into their seat, eliminating the need for self–contained battery power and/or carrying extra batteries for long flights.

American Airlines is the largest carrier in the world, currently operating over 890 commercial aircraft. AirWorks previously provided Laptop Computer Power Systems to American Airlines in 1998 for their entire fleet.

These reorders for 103 additional MD–80 aircraft are part of the American Airlines "Empower Program." It will standardize American’s entire fleet with AirWorks Laptop Computer Power Systems and make lap top power a standard feature aboard all American Airlines aircraft in both first and business class seats – as well as some select coach seating.

Airworks has provided Laptop Computer Power System installations for more than 1,500 aircraft flying worldwide since 1998 and – in addition to American Airlines – has supplied systems to Sun Country Airlines, Martin Air, CityBird, Finnair and others.
