Air Macau Reorders Global ePoint/AirWorks Cockpit Door Surveillance System

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 23, 2004 — Global ePoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:GEPT), today announced its AirWorks division received an order from Air Macau for additional cockpit door surveillance systems (CDSS) for six new Airbus A–320 aircraft.

Air Macau is a commercial passenger carrier serving the Asian market offering flights between Macau and other major Asian cities. This reorder allows Air Macau to continue outfitting its fleet of Airbus aircraft with AirWorks CDSS and is scheduled for immediate delivery.

AirWorks division President, Ricky Frick notes, "This reorder, from the Asian market...and in such a short time span...exemplifies the continuing growth in worldwide demand for AirWorks’ CDSS. Currently, we have installations ongoing for Cityline (Germany’s largest regional carrier)...and others scheduled for Lufthansa, First Choice (United Kingdom) and Dragon Air (Hong Kong). Installations of AirWorks’ fire detection and suppression kits are also scheduled for AirOne in Italy."

"Furthermore, AirWorks is also in a unique position to capture a larger share of Airbus’ industry–leading business as it currently holds Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificates (STC) for every model of aircraft Airbus builds," Frick adds. "AirWorks also holds FAA CDSS parts manufacturing approval for all Airbus models...making AirWorks the only manufacturer and installer to hold such comprehensive FAA certification for all Airbus aircraft."

Airbus is a consortium of European aircraft manufacturing companies and – of all current deliveries – Airbus manufactures approximately half of the world’s commercial aircraft seating more than 100 passengers. In 2003, more than 190 airlines worldwide operated Airbus aircraft.

Global ePoint Chief Executive, Toresa Lou, observes, "From a larger perspective, AirWorks’ established position in the aircraft industry and international contacts offer excellent opportunities for Global ePoint to continue to integrate core secured network digital video technology with innovative applications to implement end–to–end solutions in the worldwide aviation market...as well as in other related markets where state-of-the-art surveillance and security solutions are in high demand."

"This includes any and all mobile modes for transportation (both land and sea)," Lou adds, "as well as fixed solutions for unlimited commercial and industrial applications and highly specialized usage."

The AirWorks division’s primary communications and security products include cockpit door surveillance systems (CDSS), a digital electronic "flight bag" of all flight and on-board manuals and records for pilots, and a Laptop Computer Power System for passengers and flight crews. AirWorks customers include airline OEMs including AT&T Aviation, BAE Systems, Inflight Phone, L3 Communications, and Rockwell Collins; all major U.S. airlines; and all major international carriers, including ATA, Air China, Bombardier, Finnair, Varig, KLM, Lufthansa, and Cathay Pacific. AirWorks holds more than 40 supplemental type certificates (STC) certifying AirWorks as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)–approved manufacturer and installer for a range of interior equipment and systems for a variety of commercial aircraft flying worldwide.
