Global ePoint’s AirWorks CDSS System Recognized by Mexican Authority as the Only Approved Aircraft Video Security System for Use in Mexican Airspace

All Foreign & Domestic Passenger Aircraft Operating Within Mexican Airspace Must Comply Within 90 Days

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 2005--Global ePoint, Inc. (Nasdaq: GEPT - News), a leading manufacturer of security technologies for the aviation, law enforcement, commercial and industrial markets, announced today that its Aviation Division's Cockpit Door Surveillance System (CDSS) is the only acceptable means of compliance with the DGAC’s recently promulgated advisory requiring such systems to be installed in all passenger aircraft. The advisory, Finalizar El Cumplimiento Norma 13.2 (to finalize compliance of regulation 13.2), dated December 1, 2005, is now applicable to all airlines operating within the Mexican airspace. The DGAC has adopted in full the recommendation by the ICAO annex on cockpit and security for the installation of visual means of compliance by way of CDSS and cabin discreet warning systems by which Flight Attendants can electronically notify cockpit crews of suspicious behavior.

AirWorks’ CDSS system, which has already received Supplemental Type Certificate approvals from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, is the only accepted means of compliance and the only system approved for installation. The official document also provides Mexican registered carriers with the contact information for AirWorks.

The mandate is effective February 1, 2006 with a 90-day installation period. The mandate applies to: a) All aircraft operating with more than 30 passenger seats; b) All aircraft with domestic tail numbers operating in Mexican airspace; and c) All aircraft with foreign tail numbers operating in Mexican airspace.

"The official acknowledgement by the DGAC of the suitability and superiority of our CDSS system validates our efforts, investments, and continuing work with the world’s airlines and operators to provide a system that meets or exceeds the requirements of every aircraft regulatory agency in the world," stated Ricky Frick, President of AirWorks. "With the short compliance period, which requires installation within 90 days, we have made preparations to be able to install all systems within the compliance period."

"AirWorks personnel have already met with every affected Mexican airline to demonstrate the features and operating requirements of the system and have already begun training the maintenance/engineering and flight operations personnel at these airlines," added Frick. "We are very honored that the DGAC has recognized the unique features of the AirWorks system, including its total turnkey concept from design through certification, manufacturing and installation, and has selected AirWorks’ technology as the acceptable means of compliance with this mandate to ensure the safety of cockpit and cabin crews as well as the flying public."
